A seaside cocktail reception for 80 guests on the Whitsundays.

Michelle and Jamie met by chance at the local lookout. On Easter morning, Jamie brought a Michelle a beautiful Easter Basket filled with chocolate and champagne. "I thought I should put the champagne in the fridge so I took it out of the basket," says Michelle. "When I lifted the champagne out I saw a ring box sitting behind the bottle". Jamie popped the question and the rest - including the champagne - was history.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY:

Pete from Dream Capture Photography is amazing. As soon as you see any of his photos you quickly realise how talented he is at capturing each special moment. Pete is very passionate about his work and making sure the photos reflect the true magic experienced on the day.

WEDDING VENUE:

Villa Botanica have wedding planners to assist you with every decision you need to make. Hayley and Ivor from Villa Botanica made planning my wedding stress free and pleasurable. Villa Botanica is such a naturally beautiful location that very little had to be done to decorate.

THE WEDDING GOWN:

I always thought I would have a fitted mermaid style dress however once I started trying gowns on I realised that style wasn't for me. I wanted to feel like a princess with a modern twist. I have never been a fan of lace and lots of beading which is why my gown by Fiorenza was perfect. The minimal detail on the dress enabled me to add my own personal touch through accessories.

THE BRIDESMAID DRESSES:

I wanted the girls to wear dresses which were flattering for their figures and tied in with the theme and colour scheme. We found the perfect dress from Mr K. The starfish brooch fitted in nicely as we used starfish on the wedding invitations.

THE STYLING AND THEMING:

With the help of I do Events, we created a soft and romantic atmosphere with of candles and twinkling fairy lights. The colour theme used throughout the ceremony and reception consisted of grey and dusty pink. Oriental Lilies and Roses were the featured flowers.

WEDDING CAKE:
Crystalbrook patisseries created 4 tiered cupcake tower with alternate flavours (vanilla, chocolate and coffee), topped with a 13cm round white chocolate mud cake. We kept the figurines from our cake as a cute reminder of our Wedding Day.

SPECIAL MOMENT OF THE DAY:
Right before the wedding, my Dad fell gravely ill and had to have urgent surgery. The doctor said he would not be fit to attend our wedding. I was devastated. On the day of the wedding, I received a call stating that the doctor was letting Dad attend the ceremony. My uncle made a special trip to fetch Dad and I was ecstatic that my Dad was able to walk me down the aisle.

HONEYMOON:
We wanted to experience both relaxation and adventure on our honeymoon so we headed to Thailand and spent two weeks in Bangkok and Phuket.
